Sunsetting of Stader on Terra, Near, and Fantom

Dear Stader Community,

We want to share an update about Stader support on the Terra, Near, and Fantom blockchain networks. As a result the discussion in the forum over the last month, and the on-chain vote last week, the team will discontinue Stader staking products on Terra, Near, and Fantom.

Starting November 15, 2023, Stader will no longer offer staking services on these networks, and we won’t be pursuing further development there. While we are phasing out our presence on these chains, we want to assure our users and partners that we will assist with the unstaking and withdrawal process, ensuring a smooth transition for those who have been part of our journey.

Sunset Timeline:

  • November 15, 2023 - Suspend Staking

On November 15, 2023, Stader will stop all staking services for Terra, Near, and Fantom. After this date, no new deposits will be accepted on our dApps for these networks.

  • December 13, 2023 - Suspend unstaking

Until December 13, 2023 - 2:00 PM UTC, users can unstake their deposits on Terra, Near, and Fantom. After this date, unstaking option will not be available on our UI.

  • January 17, 2024 - Suspend withdrawal and official termination

Users can withdraw their tokens on Terra, Near, and Fantom once their unstake request is processed until January 17, 2024 - 2:00 PM UTC. After this deadline, withdrawals will not be available on our UI, and Stader’s presence on Terra, Near, and Fantom will be officially terminated.

Post January 17, users will still be able to withdraw via direct interaction with the Smart Contracts (a guide will be provided).

If you encounter any issues with the unstaking process or require further guidance, please reach out to our support channels on Telegram and Discord.

Thanks.

As I shared in the previous forum conversation, this is the wise approach to follow by Stader. Market fit has already been found in Polygon and BSC, but not in these chains, not are these chains as promising as they used to be.
Glad the vote has passed.

Also the guide to withdraw directly from the Smart Contracts will be helpful to prevent any undesired impact on those users that will notice this too late and are not technical enough to find out themselves.

Looks like a solid plan to me.

100% agree. It will prevent any undesired impact on non active & long-term stakers.
