Strengthening Transparency: Monthly SD Buyback & Revenue Reporting

Stader has always strived to operate with clarity and openness, ensuring that our community remains informed and engaged in the protocol’s growth and evolution. Today, we’re pleased to share a significant improvement in our buyback transparency process, one that aligns with our long-term vision of becoming one of the most transparent and accountable DAOs in the industry.

What’s Changing?

As part of our continued commitment to transparency and decentralization, we will now implement a Monthly SD Buyback & Revenue Report, which will:

  1. Track Monthly Revenue

  2. Disclose Buyback Details (USD value, SD amount, pricing, method of exchange used)

These changes apply to all chains and revenue sources and will be published here on the forum monthly similar in structure and cadence to the SD emissions updates the community is already familiar with.

Part 1: Monthly Revenue Reporting (per Chain)

Each month, we will share the total revenue generated across all chains where Stader operates in both native currency (ETH, HBAR, …) and USD terms. This will be broken down chain-by-chain, and a portion of this revenue (20%, as predetermined by internal allocation policies approved by the DAO) will be used for SD buybacks.

The reporting format will resemble our historical SD emissions reports, with a clear line-item breakdown by chain.

Part 2: SD Buyback Execution Details

Currently, SD buybacks are executed in a single transaction at the end of each month via centralized exchanges. While effective, we recognize the opportunity to improve transparency and traceability.

Moving forward, each monthly post will include:

  • The USD amount used for the buyback

  • The price paid per SD token

  • The total SD amount purchased

  • The exchange(s) where it was executed (e.g., CowSwap, 1inch, Uniswap, OKX, …)

  • A link to the wallet receiving the SD:

What Happens to the SD Bought Back?

The use of SD tokens acquired via buybacks is a separate discussion, and we welcome the community’s input.

A follow-up post will be published shortly to gather sentiment on the different pathways available:

  • Buyback and burn

  • Buyback and distribute to SD stakers

  • Buyback and distribute to Cabbage traders

  • Buyback and distribute both to SD stakers and Cabbage traders

Stay tuned: your input will help shape this next phase.

Final Notes

We believe these improvements reflect a meaningful step forward in aligning Stader’s economic transparency with best-in-class DAO standards. With clear, consistent reporting and verifiable on-chain flows, we aim to strengthen trust and build a more data-informed, community-driven governance model.
